Duckweed
Feeding the boats

Research
The research of the canal shows different mapping, diagrams, sketches and also surveys that were taken during site visits, primary and secondary research.
My research was based on water in Caledonian Road, Islington. The site included a section of the canal near the Thornhill Community Garden.

I have started to then research more about the canal and the life of the boaters.

This map represents the opportunity, risks and safety that the canal has.

Starting from the canal St Pancras lock where the Victorian water tower brings history and opportunity like St Pancras cruising club that allows boaters to fill up the water. The Caledonian road includes the Thornhill Comunity garden where brings the people from different age group to plant flowers and vegetation to the garden. The canal also thinks about the risk and safety of people with hazard signs to safety equipment.
Not only there are risks for human but also to the living wildlife on the canal, many plants like duckweeds and algae create massive harm to animals and the boaters.

The section near the Thornhill Community Garden demonstrates the life on the canal such as:
Boaters, people visiting the canal, nature surrounded, the wildlife under and on the canal.
